{"id":1926,"date":"2019-02-19T13:52:21","date_gmt":"2019-02-19T12:52:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bfg.pl\/?page_id=1926"},"modified":"2026-03-17T08:53:33","modified_gmt":"2026-03-17T07:53:33","slug":"coverage-level","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/bfg.pl\/en\/for-depositors\/deposit-guarantee-principles\/coverage-level\/","title":{"rendered":"Coverage level and calculation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Coverage limit<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Eligible deposits up to the PLN equivalent of \u20ac100,000 are fully covered.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How we calculate your coverage<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coverage is calculated based on your deposit balance on the date when deposits become unavailable, including accrued interest up to that date.<\/li>\n<li>We aggregate all your deposits across different account types (e.g., current accounts, savings accounts, term deposits) at the same institution to calculate total coverage.<\/li>\n<li>For joint accounts, each account holder is entitled to separate coverage up to \u20ac100,000.<\/li>\n<li>For client accounts held by investment firms, each underlying client is treated as a separate depositor for coverage purposes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Temporary high balances<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In specific life circumstances, natural persons may receive increased coverage above the standard \u20ac100,000 limit for up to 3 months. Repayment of amounts exceeding \u20ac100,000 requires a separate application.<\/p>\n<p>Funds from the following sources receive enhanced coverage up to \u20ac200,000 (maximum additional \u20ac100,000 above the standard limit) for 3 months from the date funds are credited:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>sale of residential property (house, apartment, or land).<\/li>\n<li>property settlement following divorce or separation,<\/li>\n<li>inheritance,<\/li>\n<li>life insurance payouts,<\/li>\n<li>personal accident insurance payouts,<\/li>\n<li>severance payments,<\/li>\n<li>retirement or disability pension payments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The natural person depositor funds or claims derived from the following sources are covered by the guarantee in entirety within 3 months from the date of funds being credited in the account:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>payment of compensation for damage caused by a crime or compensation for damage suffered, compensation or reparation, as referred to in Article 552 of the Act &#8211; Code of Criminal Procedure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Coverage limit Eligible deposits up to the PLN equivalent of \u20ac100,000 are fully covered.
